The annual Cloverdale Blueberry Festival is on again for its 10th year on August 10, 2013 from 9am to 4pm. 176th Street and 176A Street will be closed from approximately 58A Avenue to Highway 10.
The Show 'n' Shine will be mostly on 176th Street featuring antique and custom cars, trucks, and motorcycles. There will be entertainers set up on a stage across from Hawthorne Square - on 176th Street between 57th and 58th Avenues - performing all day. There'll be a blueberry pie eating contest at 10am and 11am. There's an art festival taking place at the Surrey Museum (56A Avenue between 176A and 177B Street) with entertainers performing throughout the day here too. The Cloverdale Lions Club will be selling blueberry pancakes in Hawthorne Square from 8am to 10:30am and vendors will be set up on 56A Avenue and 176th Street.
Just walk around downtown Cloverdale and you'll see everything.
As for parking, seeing as how the old Cloverdale Mall is fenced off, try parking in the Cloverdale Legion's parking lot on 57th Avenue between the Cloverdale Bypass and 176th Street. There is public parking lots just off 56A Avenue in the alley behind 176th Street near the firehall behind 57th Avenue. Other public parking lots are on 176A Street but they might be blocked off to traffic due to festivities. Look for parking on the residential streets 177B Street and on the avenues between 176A Street and 177B.

Blueberry Pancake Breakfast at Cloverdale Legion Saturday August 4 2012
The Cloverdale Legion is adding blueberries to their pancake breakfast this Saturday August 4, 2012 in honour of the Cloverdale Blueberry Festival.
The legion is located at 17567 - 57th Avenue. Lots of parking around the legion incorporating what's left of the parking lot of the old Cloverdale Mall. Get there early because as festival goers show up the parking lot will fill quickly.
Price is $4.50 per person and includes blueberry pancakes, eggs, sausage, and coffee, tea, and orange juice/drink. They also cook up a few pancakes that don't have blueberries for those who don't like the fruit cooked into their pancake.

Cloverdale Blueberry Festival Saturday August 6 2011
The Cloverdale Blueberry Festival takes place in downtown Cloverdale on Saturday August 6 2011 from about 9am to 5pm.
There are all kinds of events taking place. 176th Street is closed off to traffic between 58A Avenue and Highway 10. Also 57th Avenue is closed and some of 176A Street too.
There is a Show N Shine taking place on 176th Street. Lots of nice old cars. I have some photos from last year here.
The Cloverdale Legion will be serving up blueberry pancakes, eggs, sausages, coffee, tea, and orange juice/drink from 8am to 11:30am for $4.50. Located at 17567 57th Avenue. This might also be a good place to try to find a parking spot to wander around Cloverdale.
Other parking spots? Perhaps try parking along 58th Avenue or 177B Street and walking downtown. There are public parking lots on 176A Street at 58A Avenue and betwee 58th and 57th Avenue. Get there early. I'm not sure when and where 176A is being closed off.
There's a pie eating contest and various entertainment happening around Cloverdale. Doesn't seem to be any set hours. There will be vendors selling blueberries, fresh produce, and crafts.
The free trolley bus will make an appearance for the day giving rides around Cloverdale.
End the day at the Cloverdale fairgrounds, corner of 176th Street and 60th Avenue, from 5pm to 9pm. Admission is $5 and includes a burger at the BBQ. There will music and dancing. Gino Gerussi will be performing. For those of you who don't know who he is, back in high school his claim to fame was his uncle was Bruno Gerussi of the Beachcombers TV show fame. He was in a band back in junior high and still has a band, though I doubt its the same group. He sings a wonderful rendition of Billy Joel's "She's Got A Way" that I hear frequently on QMFM 103.5.
Last year the day of the Blueberry Festival was HOT. Its really tough to be walking around in the heat looking at cars when the pavement is just burning and reflecting up on you. And that was pretty early in the morning! Hopefully we'll still be having some of the weather we've been experiencing most of this summer. Cool and dry.

Cloverdale's Blueberry Festival 2010
Sorry to say I didn't take in too much of today's blueberry festivities in Cloverdale. Can thank the too hot, hot weather for that!
We did start the day at the Legion for blueberry pancakes. Yummy!
Then Kerry had to leave and I waited at home for my father and his girlfriend to arrive so they could see what's happening in Cloverdale today. We drove back to the parking lot near the Legion and fortunately there were still a couple of spots available so we managed to park fairly near to 176th Street. A quick walk down there to check out the cars. There were some older cars and trucks but many were newer vehicles and hot rods. We didn't see the blueberry pie eating contests nor the entertainers or vendors. Basically once up the street and back around 11am and called it quits due to the heat.
I managed to take a few photos of some cars.
I can say I'm sure glad I'm not at the Abbotsford Airshow in this weather with the hot sun beating down on the pavement.
